Initiatives for Desks & Books
Hello hello from Chiang Mai, Thailand!
While we were up at the school this time around we couldn’t help but notice that the kiddos are in desperate need of new desks and shelving units. Their desks are in complete disrepair, and the teachers don’t even have a desk of their own! Their books are handed down from the government, in terrible condition and in a lot of cases not right for the ages of the kids at the school. Also they have no musical instruments to play with or experiment with (what if the next big superstar lives up in these mountains)?! As such, we reached out to the Chiang Mai community and in the last week have collected a variety of amazing donations (books / clothes / household items / guitars) from the very generous people who responded. We have gone hunting for second hand desks as well, but sadly have been unable to find any.
The Foundation is so humbled and continuously astounded by the love that is given and the generous donations made. We are hopeful we will also be able to purchase the kids of Pha Dang Luang new desks to further enhance their education. After all, it isn’t easy to learn your A B C’s when your B U M hurts from sitting in your ancient chair!
